Under a turnkey contract the contractor is not only responsible for the design and construction of the project, but also for commissioning. The client’s role in turnkey projects is more ‘hands off, as the contractor is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction and delivers the completed project to the client, often for a fixed lump sum agreed at the tender stage.
