Spend Analysis and Category Benchmarking Success


Victoria Department of Treasury and Finance has outsourced their entire spend analysis and large-scale supplier data collection capability to Purchasing Index for the past three years. Through this relationship they have continuous access to their spend, savings and compliance analysis, as well as direct support for nine category specialists covering 20 categories.


Consolidating data from eight business units and more than 15 subsidiaries, BORAL North America has engaged with Purchasing Index to collate and categorise their vast and varied spend portfolio. With highly accurate categorised spend data, PI was able to use their proprietary analysis tools to produce a multi-dimensional Segmentation, Opportunity Analysis and Category Strategy platform.


Moving into their 11th year of partnership, Deakin University and Purchasing Index have worked together to build a large-scale platform of spend analysis, benchmarking and category management tools covering nine key departmental focus areas; and supporting the procurement department through multiple system migrations.
