Segmentation

The analysis of large groups into smaller subsets that share similar characteristics. For example, when profiling supply markets, sub-sections of the market may be segmented to allow for specific strategies to be developed for manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Categories may also be segmented by cost and risk, and stakeholders may be segmented by power and interest.
