Radio-frequency identification [RFID] is a technology that allows a reader to capture information from an electronic tag using radio waves. The technology has applications in identifying and tracking inventory, assets and vehicles. It may replace some barcoding applications as multiple RFID tags can be read at once and without the line of sight needed with a barcode.
