Appraisal, Supplier

Appraisal refers to the evaluation of potential suppliers. It differs from vendor rating which is the assessment of existing suppliers. Typically supplier appraisal is undertaken on a multifunctional basis and involves a combination of desk-based evaluation, such as analysis of annual reports and, field-based assessment such as a product trial, visit to a reference site, or assessment of providers facilities.
